Since when did an NBA Expansion get awarded to Louisville and why are they playing games in New Mexico?!?!?!?

I was flipping around the TV channels the other night and started to watch, what I thought at the time was an NBA game (as I soon discovered was the University of Washington/Louisville Cardinals NCAA tournament game). I mean the game, before I discovered the actual names of the teams that were playing, had ALL the elements of an NBA game:

- Crappy officiating
- REALLY lame touch fouls
- Louisville honing their 'camping in the key' skills
- Louisville coach standing on the court of play during play.
- One way officiating
- Three teams on the playing surface during the given game (I thought this was only an NHL playoff characteristic).
- The shadow of 'NBA' on the ref's jerseys as if an 'NBA' patch was ripped off just before the game.

Ok, I'm attempting to be humorous here but some of these points aren't really all that far off. The officials and the lame 'NBA' style touch fouls did take the UW out of the game. I honestly tought that UW would have pulled out a squeaker in this game but I never in a million years thought that the officials would have handed the game to Louisville on a Silver Platter. The outcome of this game was wrong on so many levels that I shudder at the thought at the pages of usless pap I can write about the subject.

These two teams matched up evenly on paper and was a bit suprised that Louisville came out bangin' and crashing. They did exploit one of the UW's main weaknesses, attacking under the hoop by driving from the baseline as I thought Louisville would. I will give Pitino credit, he did do his homework VERY well.

Oh well, I've accepted the fact that the UW's magical season is now overwith. Nate Robinson will more than likely declare his intentions to go into the NBA draft next season. I'll be VERY suprised if he doesn't. However, if Nate doesn't go into the NBA, he will be coming back to a team with more talent and depth than this past season. Lorenzo Romar has created an amazing foundation for the future of the UW Men's Basketball program and for the first time in my life I can say the following phrase for te first time with sincertity:

"I can't wait for the 2006 UW Men's B-Ball season to get underway!!!"

Now if you excuse me I have to vomit and go into subsequent convulsions after hearing "Earth Wind and Fire with Kenny G" do a cover of 'Outkast's' "The way you move".
